Recently this former Waves location has become an independent cafe. Reopened with reduced hours, it appears to be family run and the quality is first rate. We tried the house chicken sandwich and pistachio rolled croissant. Wow! Fantastic! And the service was A+. Everything was brought to our table. Including the cream and milk for our coffee and tea. They came by several times to ask if we enjoyed our lunch. I highly recommend it. I've never seen the place so busy. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. All new furniture and decor as well. Quite the glow up.

This seems to be a new cafe, that took over Waves location. Their display cabinet was full of delicious looking pastries. We ordered: Maple Macchiato - Super hot and had a very nice maple taste. Chai Latte - This was a miss for me. Tasted like a very weak tea bag. Not too mention my cup came with a lipstick stain, so we had to ask them for a clean cup. They were nice enough to make us a brand new up. Spinach & Tomato Grilled Sandwich - It was good, but overall grilled, so it was a little but tough to eat. Pistachio Croissant - This was the star of the day. Croissant was very well made, great texture and filling was just right. I think it's a rather new cafe, and it was quite busy, they looked very overwhelmed. Empty tables were not cleaned, with cups left on tables. Both employees were super nice and checked on us a few times.

Another local spot for coffee and pastries on Hastings in North Burnaby. This place is in a great location, right on the corner. There are a few tables and the usual counters along the window to sit down inside. It's nice and bright. The couple running it have been in biz for about 14 years, but only under this new brand for about less than a year. Good coffee and nice assortment of loose leaf teas. The pastries look tasty, although I didn't get any.

I come here at least once a week to study and the atmosphere is amazing. I always get either a hot vanilla matcha latte or an espresso frappe, both are so good. For food I would 100% recommend the veggie sandwich! They also give student discounts if you have your ID, and they have a private study/conference room at the back you can book! Amazing family owned cafe, the staff are so kind!!

This is a newly opened cafe in the Heights neighborhood. It's family owned and I believe they work in the Cafe themselves. Very nice family and walks around the Cafe to check on everyone and their food. Had the grilled chicken with soup, which was a lot of food, you can definitely share with two people if not super hungry . Sandwich quality was excellent and very tasty and broccoli soup was good as well. Had some latte as well, excellent espresso flavour. I would definitely come back for the Italian Sandwich and yes half is plenty! There are also desserts to choose from. We were recommended to try the loaves as they are baked in-house. I will definitely give it a try next time. Definitely worth a visit.
